Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital is located in Lebanon, New Hampshire, tucked between the scenic landscapes of New Hampshire and Vermont.

You can’t deny the beauty of the area. Visitors from across the globe travel to this slice of New England for four-season experiences with attractions and outdoor activities for everyone: mountains, beaches, lakes, hikes, skiing, and fall foliage, to name a few.

Many visitors end up staying. Why? New Hampshire and Vermont are wonderful places to live, work, raise a family, and do business. We have some of the most advanced educational institutions, best healthcare, and diverse cultural and recreational offerings. It’s a wonderful combination of small-town rural living with big-city cultural vibrancy.

Here are a few more reasons why people love the Upper Valley:

  • New Hampshire does not have a personal income or sales tax.
  • New England offers an outdoor activity for every season: swimming, biking, snowboarding and skiing (New Hampshire has 33 and Vermont has 19 alpine and cross-country ski resorts), and hiking (the 57-mile Northern Rail Trail runs from Boscawen to Lebanon, NH.)
  • About 78% of Vermont and 85% of New Hampshire is covered in forest. You are likely to see a brown bear, moose, white-tailed deer, or fox in this area.
  • Both states have low crime rates. New Hampshire is in the 98th percentile for safety, meaning 2% of states are safer and 98% of states are more dangerous. Vermont is in the 96th percentile for safety.
  • Both states are known for their maple syrup; Vermont produces 2.5 million gallons annually (#1) and New Hampshire 167,000 (#6).
