Michele Perkins joined the APDMH Board of Trustees in 2025. Perkins had numerous leadership roles from her 20+ years at the New England College in Henniker, NH, starting as Vice President and culminating in serving as the College President from 2007-22, and the Chancellor from 2022-23. Prior to NEC, she worked as Director of Enrollment Management and Director of Admission at several colleges, including New York Law School in NYC, Trinity College in Burlington, VT and Emerson College in Boston, MA. During her tenure as college president, Perkins served on seven higher education/nonprofit boards and often led seminars on higher education governance. She is currently consulting on projects to include developing strategic plans, enrollment strategies, and governance projects.

 

Perkins received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, majoring in Theater, followed by a Master’s in Communication Studies (concentration in Literature in Performance) from Emerson College. She earned her Doctor of Education in the Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management program from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Perkins continues to enjoy theatre and has been a cast member for recent productions with the Parish Players in Thetford, VT. She also serves as Trustee/Chair of the Development Committee of the Parish Players. She lives in Corinth Corners, VT.
