Lebanon Opera House (LOH), with support from Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital and the Dartmouth Health system, is delighted to announce the return of “Come as You Are,” a series of free programs designed to bring the community together in celebration of the arts. This free big-screen series, initially launched in Spring 2024 as part of LOH's Centennial Celebration, was a major success and well-received by theater-goers.
“Partnering with our neighbors at LOH to support community connections, address feelings of loneliness, and bring joy in a no-cost, fun way is a natural fit for the Hospital,” said Beth O’Donnell, MPH, Director of Community Health at APD. “We’re delighted to support this popular series for another year.”
Starting in January, the following movies will be shown in the renovated Lebanon Opera House on 51 Park Street:
- Saturday, January 11 at 10 am -- Encanto (A sing-along, sensory-friendly “sound down, lights up” screening)
- Sunday, February 2 at 3 pm -- E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
- Thursday, February 13 at 7 pm -- City Lights (silent Charlie Chaplin film with live piano from Bob Merrill), free childcare
- Thursday, March 20 at 7 pm -- RENT (2005 film), free childcare
Based on feedback from participants, LOH has expanded the series from three films to four, and is offering free childcare to parents and guardians on February 13 and March 20 in partnership with Carter Community Building Association (CCBA).
“Since 1924, our organization has served as a place of fellowship during good times and one of refuge during times of uncertainty,” said LOH Executive Director Joe Clifford. “This series is for everyone, but removes barriers in particular for families with neurodiverse children, seniors, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Now, more than ever, we invite everyone to discover the warm and welcoming community here at LOH. Bring your family and friends. Come as you are!”
