From camps to conferences to career support, Vermont Works for Women (VWW) is working to create an equitable Vermont where people of all identities and backgrounds have equal access to opportunities and to thrive economically.
Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital is championing VWW’s mission by sponsoring LUNAFEST®, an award-winning traveling film festival showcasing short films directed and produced by women filmmakers.
Because of support of local organizations like Alice Peck Day, LUNAFEST will be visiting the Upper Valley for the first time in 2023.
“Thanks to the support of local organizations like Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, Vermont Works for Women will be bringing the LUNAFEST film festival to the Upper Valley for the first time this spring!” said Rhoni Basden, VWW’s executive director.
On Friday, March 10, a night of films by and about women will be held at the Briggs Opera House in White River Junction, Vermont. The pre-reception at the Junction Arts and Media space begins at 5:30 pm, followed by the film screening at 7 pm.
A second screening will be held on Friday, April 7 at Main Street Landing in Burlington, Vermont.
Films are rated for ages 13+. Tickets for the films are $15, and tickets for the films and pre-reception activities are $25. All proceeds support Vermont Works for Women's mission to promote economic justice by advancing gender equity and supporting women and youth at every stage of their career journeys.
