The Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees elected two new community trustees to the board during the December 2023 meeting. Their three-year terms began on January 1, 2024.
The two new members are: Christopher Hubble, MD, Vice President of Patient Safety at Dartmouth Health and Courtney Tanner, JD, MSW, Senior Director at Dartmouth Health Government Relations.
Christopher Hubble, MD joined Dartmouth Health as Vice President for Patient Safety in April 2021. Hubble is responsible for developing Dartmouth Health’s workplace and patient safety operating model among administrative, nursing, and medical staff leaders through education and the analysis of harm events. He guides process improvement efforts and establishes state-of-the-art cause analysis to optimize learning from safety events, builds accountability and monitors progress for continued improvement.
Previously, Hubble served as the manager of transformational services at Healthcare Performance Improvement (HPI), a Division of Press Ganey Associates, LLC. As a healthcare safety and high-reliability expert, he has worked to improve the safety and reliability culture of more than 50 healthcare organizations in the United States and Canada, including both large and small systems, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and academic environments. Before joining HPI, he was a pediatric critical care physician at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, and the improvement director for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In addition, Hubble co-founded and co-directed the Children’s Mercy Hospital’s palliative care program.
Hubble is a graduate of Dartmouth College and earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Courtney Tanner, JD, MSW has been with Dartmouth Health since 2018. Her current role is Senior Director at Dartmouth Health Government Relations.
Tanner holds adjunct professorships at Colby-Sawyer College and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She serves as board chair of Families Flourish Northeast, and board member of New Hampshire Humanities, and the American College of Healthcare Executives’ Northern New England chapter.
She was named to the 2023 class of the New Hampshire Union Leader’s annual Forty Under 40 list, profiling young Granite Staters making a difference. She has been selected as a member of the 2024 fellowship class of the Carol Emmott Foundation, which works to accelerate gender equity in healthcare leadership by providing women leaders a platform for national visibility as well as a continuously growing network of peers, mentors, and sponsors in the industry.
She earned her JD/MSW dual degree from the University of New Hampshire’s Franklin Pierce School of Law and College of Health and Human Services.
