Looking for a free, family friendly activity this spring? Two Lebanon, New Hampshire-based community organizations — Lebanon Opera House (LOH) and Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD) — have created the free “Come as You Are” movie series.
“With spiraling gas and food costs, money is tight for many Upper Valley residents,” said Beth O’Donnell, MPH, Director of Community Health at APD. “Partnering with our neighbors at Lebanon Opera House to create a free monthly movie series was a great way to support community building — and improve access to joy and fun.”
Starting in March, monthly movies will be shown in the newly renovated Lebanon Opera House on 51 Park Street, and includes the following:
- Shrek on Saturday, March 30 at 10 am
- Singin’ in the Rain on Thursday, April 18 at 4 pm and 7 pm
- Kinky Boots (the original movie) on Thursday, May 9 at 7 pm
“At LOH, we are wielding the transformative power of the arts to redefine what it means to serve our community. We know that the arts combat isolation, create a more empathetic community, and inspire self-expression,” said Joe Clifford, Executive Director at Lebanon Opera House. “With support from our partners at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, we’re proud to launch Come as You Are – a free movie series designed to bring joy to our community. We encourage you to drop your phone (or tablet) and check out three free movies on the LOH big screen surrounded by our state-of-the-art sound system. Come by yourself or with colleagues. Bring family members or friends. However you choose to enjoy these fun-filled flicks, we’ll be ready to welcome you!”
“We’re extremely grateful to APD for sponsoring this movie series,” said Maureen Krauland, Development Relations Manager at Lebanon Opera House. “It provides three barrier-free ways for some of our underserved neighbors to access LOH programming.”
