Honoring Our Extraordinary Nurses
At Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, our nurses are at the heart of patient care, embodying compassion, dedication, and excellence every day. To celebrate their unwavering commitment, we are proud to participate in the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®—a national recognition honoring the exceptional care nurses provide to patients and families.
About the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses® is part of the DAISY Foundation's mission to recognize the profound difference nurses make in the lives of those they serve. Established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, the award honors Patrick’s legacy and the compassionate care his family experienced during his battle with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a rare auto-immune disease.
The award allows patients, families, and colleagues to nominate nurses whose extraordinary care has left a lasting impact. At APD, our Professional Development Council carefully reviews nominations and selects each award recipient.
